Can you provide me with the RFP? I would like to be involved in the discussion. The Kinsella family has owned land in this area since 1794 and still do.

I would like to see the committee's review from March. Is it available?

The Town of Torbay is undertaking the development of a comprehensive Economic Strategic Roadmap that speaks to the industrial and commercial business development and future potential for Torbay. The review completed was for a scope of work created for an RFP (Request for Proposals) to hire a consultant/consulting form that will complete the Economic Strategic Roadmap and not a review of the 2011 Torbay Business Park Preliminary Feasibility Report.

The RFP was publicly posted thereafter and awarded to TRACT Consulting at a regular scheduled Council meeting on July 20, 2020.

I reside at 49 Roblin Place. How does this affect this residential area? The woods surrounding this area act as a buffer not only for noise but a carbon filter for the fumes from the airport if you get my drift. Be very careful. Disturbing this area and opening for business will upset the existing natural state. Has there been an envirronmental assessment done recently?

The land immediately in rear of the property at 49 Roblin Place is zoned Residential Infill (RI). The land a little further back from the subject property is designated and zoned Comprehensive Development Area – Industrial (CDA-I). Although the Town of Torbay is currently undertaking a study relating to the economic development of the Town of Torbay, the Town is not in receipt of an active proposal in this area.

Development in this area would be subject to a municipal plan and development regulation amendment requiring public notification. And, the development of a scheme is subject to assessing factors such as establishment of suitable buffers and setbacks from existing residential areas, as well as traffic, airport and environmental considerations.
